  • When Ann Gibbins and her daughters Vicky and Michelle drive their 1903 De Dion Bouton from London to Brighton this Sunday, it will be the first time they have taken part in the Veteran Car Run without Ann’s late husband, her daughters' father, David. We chatted to these wonderful ladies about their family's love for the Run, and how the veteran car community is supporting them.

  • When Erin Seidemann takes her c1903 curved-dash Oldsmobile out on the Veteran Car Run this year she will be continuing what her late father, Dr Michael Seidemann, introduced her to more than ten years ago. We invited Dr Nina Baker, an engineering historian with an interest in women in motoring, to interview Erin about how she became interested in veteran cars.

  • Our focus on lady drivers on the Veteran Car Run shifts to a lady cyclist. Louise Kennedy is taking a break from campaigning her Lancia Aurelia B20GT in classic motorsport to pay tribute to Tessie Reynolds, an inspirational 19th century teenage record-breaker and women’s rights pioneer.

  • Sarah Tunnicliffe, her daughter Sabrina and Sabrina’s siblings William and Caroline are the second and third generation of what might be viewed as a London to Brighton dynasty, and one in which lady drivers have played an equal role since the beginning. • As the Veteran Car Run prepares to celebrate the 120th anniversary of the Ladies Automobile Club, we talk to a number of ladies who take part in the Run from the driving seat. Often it’s something that’s passed down their family, as in the case of Sarah Lee (nee Brooks), the daughter of the internationally renowned auctioneer and tremendous enthusiast for and supporter of the Run, the late Robert Brooks, who made her maiden drive on the Run in 2023.
  • When the participants on the Veteran Car Run arrive in Brighton and line up in front of those ornate arches, it's fascinating to think of the crowds who gathered above those same arches to witness the first-ever Brighton Speed Trials in 1905 - and what they would think of it all today...

  • We are very excited to announce the first items in this year’s event memorabilia collection, exclusively designed for the Veteran Car Run and capturing our 120th anniversary of the Ladies’ Automobile Club theme for 2024.
